The Number One Thing To Look For In An
Anti Aging Skin Cream
First of all let me clarify what I consider to be
characteristics of an anti aging skin cream. The product must have a
positive and measurable impact on some aspect of the skin’s
complexion, elasticity or cellular health. In this discussion I will
focus on the cellular health of the skin.
While many people focus on the visible attributes of their skin, and
although that is certainly important, I think that the protection of
your skin is really more important. Regardless of the visible results
you are trying to attain, you should always use products that contain a
sunscreen, such as zinc oxide. This particular sun-block mineral is the
stuff many people coat their children with, for a day at the beach.
So, why should sunscreen be such an important consideration in selecting
your skin care products? For several reasons. The most obvious is of
course that unprotected exposure to the sun increases the risk of skin
cancer. Additionally, some of the ultra violet rays (UV) in sunlight are
able to make their way into the deeper levels of the skin and cause
wrinkles. And did you know that eighty percent (80%) of the dangerous
ultra violet radiation from the Sun can still get to you on a cloudy
day?
As helpful as sunscreen is, there are still some things you need to
watch out for when selecting your UV-protective, anti aging skin cream.
You should make sure that the product you select does not contain any
ingredients that you are allergic to. The zinc oxide mentioned earlier
is less apt to be a source of irritation, but you will need to test for
yourself. In particular you may want to avoid products that include
alcohols or preservatives. The more natural the better.
If you are not already using this type of product, you can begin your
search by investigating mineral-based cosmetics. This type of cosmetic
is relatively new and many of the claims by manufacturers of these
products have not yet withstood clinical testing. So educate yourself
with the vast resources on the Internet or the library. I anticipate
that I will providing articles in the future on this topic, so please be
on the lookout.
